Using the right Keywords on your website, blog, or within your articles can make the difference between achieving great success and absolute failure. Good keyword placement and proper frequency is a primary factor in how your site scores with the major search engines.
If you do it right, you can get a page one listing when people do searches. This will bring you tons of free organic search traffic. Do it wrong and your site can end up on page 237, where no one will ever find it! So how many times should you use your keywords to please the search engines?
The current wisdom states that your keyword should be between 2% and 5% of your article or web page. This is a real pain if you write on the fly. You constantly have to count the number of words, then go back and count your keywords. Ughhh…It’s a real hassle! A much easier way to get the frequency right for your website or articles without having to count them over and over is as follows:
Use your keyword once near the front of your title.
Use it twice in the first paragraph, and then use it once in each of the following paragraphs.
And finally, use it twice in the last paragraph.
Using this procedure will keep you in good favor with the all powerful search engines.
